Steven G. Mandis is a founder, investor, author and academic leader with extensive experience across finance, organizational research and business education. He serves as senior academic advisor to FIFA and as a senior fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He has written several award-winning books, including What Happened to Goldman Sachs and The Real Madrid Way.
Mandis began his career at Goldman Sachs; he then co-founded a multibillion-dollar global alternative asset management firm. During the financial late-aughts financial crisis, he served as a senior advisor to McKinsey and Company before becoming chief of staff to the president and COO of Citigroup, where he sat on the firm’s executive, management and risk committees. Mandis then co-founded, invested in and sold several financial services businesses.
