Biography

Sunil Madan, MD, MBA is a senior physician executive, board advisor and leadership coach with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare leadership, quality and patient safety, hospital and medical group management, digital health and value-based care. He focuses on leading transformation across healthcare organizations driving innovation, measurable outcomes, greater value and reductions in the total cost of care.

Madan serves as chief medical officer of Reston Hospital Center, where he oversees clinical operations and strategy. He leads initiatives focused on quality improvement, patient safety, care management, medical affairs and clinical performance, partnering closely with physician leaders and executive teams to advance operational excellence and patient outcomes.

Previously, Madan played a key leadership role during the merger of Anne Arundel Health System to form Luminis Health, where he served as chief medical officer. His accomplishments include co-leading systemwide clinical integration efforts, launching aligned professional services and helping implement service line and shared services structures resulting in meaningful expense reductions and operational efficiencies.
