Biography

Thomas D. Locke is a lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Information Management at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and senior accountant with experience spanning public accounting, higher education and manufacturing. He specializes in revenue recognition, internal controls, process improvement and financial systems analysis.

Locke began his career in public accounting at RSM US LLP, where he worked on financial audits, internal control testing, and staff training. Since then, he has held senior accounting roles at Cirrus Aircraft and South College, being known for his ability to translate complex accounting standards into practical, actionable guidance for both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
