Biography

Vahid is a BAS doctoral student and a UC Foundation Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). Prior to joining UTC in 2017, he received his PhD in electrical engineering in 2015 and was a postdoctoral scholar in the Center for Energy Research at the University of California San Diego for two years. Disfani’s research interests include optimization, data analytics, and also artificial intelligence in energy systems, logistics and education systems. He currently has active research projects focused on optimal grid integration of distributed energy resources, optimal truckload planning and AI-powered student advising systems.
