Presentation Title: Enterprise Applications of Reinforcement Learning
Presentation Description: Reinforcement learning (RL) is an area of machine learning that focuses on decision making in uncertain environments. Because they have a more flexible framework, RL agents can produce superhuman performance on tasks that supervised learning models cannot complete. This talk will cover the basic concepts of reinforcement learning, its nascent application in enterprise, and the promise it holds for the future.
Zack Kimble has worked in data science roles in supply chain, marketing and communications. As a data scientist at Home Depot he built ordering algorithms that were deployed nationally to thousands of stores. During his time at marketing agency 360i, he built time series forecasts and optimization programs to allow short and long term planning of marketing spend. He currently leads the data science team at Lirio. His team is responsible for exploring new data sources and developing scalable, reproducible machine learning products that help Lirio’s clients tailor communications to individual customers. In their work they develop novel solutions for extracting features and insight from structured and unstructured data using deep learning models.
