The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business is celebrating record-breaking enrollment in its Graduate and Executive Education programs. This fall, 1,244 graduate students are enrolled, a 19.5 percent increase from 2024 and a 39.7 percent increase from 2023.
This milestone reflects Haslam’s commitment to delivering results-driven graduate education that equips leaders with the skills, connections and expertise to thrive in a contemporary business environment.
Master’s Students with Broad Reach and Strong Credentials
Haslam’s fall 2025 graduate enrollment includes 76 doctoral students, 582 residential master’s students and 586 online master’s students, representing 44 U.S. states and 36 countries. More than 150 of these students already hold a graduate degree and 128 identify as active-duty military or veterans.
The new enrollees bring a wide range of backgrounds, from accounting, supply chain, marketing, human resources and finance to healthcare, engineering, nonprofit leadership and military service. Their professional experience strengthens classroom learning and ensures team-based projects reflect the challenges and opportunities of today’s global business landscape.
Delivering Education That Fits Student Needs
Amy Cathey, associate dean for Graduate and Executive Education, said the balance between online and residential enrollment highlights Haslam’s ability to meet students where they are.
“Students can choose the programming format that works best for them,” she said. “Whether they seek a more traditional educational setting or want the flexibility of a hybrid or wholly online option, Haslam’s portfolio of programs allows students and professionals anywhere in the world and at any career stage to pursue a graduate degree. Our enrollment growth highlights that students are making the most of the multiple programs and formats we offer.”
While more than half of Haslam graduate students are from Tennessee — underscoring the college’s contribution to serving the state and preparing residents with advanced qualifications — students bring experience across a wide spectrum of disciplines. In addition to veterans, military personnel and professionals from other countries, classes include student athletes, CFOs, nonprofit leaders, physicians and musicians. The pooled experience of such an eclectic group elevates classroom discourse and ensures dynamic engagement in group projects.
“Whether students are veterans looking to re-enter civilian life, recent college graduates, CEOs or college professors, Haslam delivers an educational experience designed for their goals in the format they want, which allows them to contribute greater value to their organizations,” Cathey said. “To our new graduate students, welcome to Haslam! We are thrilled you have selected Haslam to attain your graduate degrees and launch the next phase of your careers.”

Haslam has a long-standing tradition of innovating to meet industry needs. The college launched the nation’s first physician-only executive MBA over 25 years ago, has consistently ranked among the top supply chain graduate programs and recently introduced the M.S. in Business Cybersecurity Online to address critical workforce needs in data security.
