Biography
Peter Haslag is an associate professor in the Department of Finance at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business. Previously, he spent nine years on the finance faculty at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, where his research and teaching centered on how financial markets and the labor market shape one another. Haslag’s primary research investigates the intersection of labor economics and finance, with a focus on human capital. His broader research spans mergers and acquisitions, equity market microstructure, banking, securitization, municipal bonds and migration patterns. Haslag’s work has appeared in leading journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and Management Science.
