Biography

Prior to joining the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, Tara Mohrfeld worked in various leadership and management roles with the Haslam College of Business’ graduate programs. She also taught part-time in the leadership studies minor and oversaw the campus-wide UTK Leadership Development Program. She enjoys experiencing new places and has planned and traveled with students on several for-credit global business trips. She has coached and advised students for several years through their academic, professional and leadership journeys and enjoys connecting alumni and industry partners in student learning both in and out of the classroom. She advises the MSUT student organization while also serving on the college’s Diversity and Inclusion Council and the Women in Business and Leadership Summit planning committee.

Mohrfeld received her Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, a master’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a B.S. from the University of Iowa, not far from where she was born and raised. She enjoys the abundant nature and beauty East Tennessee has to offer, filling her free time with activities such as hiking, kayaking, wake surfing, trail/waterfall chasing and yoga.
