Bachelor’s in Business Analytics
The Bachelor’s in Business Analytics program prepares students to work in fields including consulting, supply chain, finance and marketing. Demand for analytics professionals far exceeds supply, and this talent gap is increased by the high standards corporations maintain for analytics employees. Our program prepares students to meet those standards.
Business Analytics professionals use data analysis and computer models to improve business performance. The core of their education includes regression analysis, database management, data mining, use of various statistical software and data visualization techniques.
In order to succeed in the modern business world, it’s also vital that analysts have an ability to work in teams.
Our program teaches students a mix of analytical expertise, business acumen and interpersonal ability. We also encourage students to participate in degree-related internships, which are linked to higher starting salaries and more job offers after graduation.
High School Preparation
High school students should follow a college preparatory curriculum and take their high school’s recommended courses in Math, English, and Foreign Language. Appropriate electives include any business courses, as well as courses in computer software applications and written and oral communication. The Haslam College of Business further encourages all high school students to 1) explore international business issues and opportunities, 2) participate in student organizations and clubs, and 3) volunteer in their community.
