Ford Joins Haslam as Accounting Lecturer

October 3, 2019

Ron Ford (HCB, ’84) has been hired as a lecturer in Graduate and Executive Education (GEE) and the Department of Accounting and Information Management in the Haslam College of Business. He assumed his new role on August 1.

Ford’s background includes a range of corporate officer roles in several different business-to-business and business-to-consumer companies. He most recently served as the senior vice president and chief financial officer of Armstrong Flooring. Ford also served as a faculty member at Pepperdine University and, as the associate dean, led the school to a national ranking for its EMBA program.

This new job will be a homecoming of sorts for Ford, since he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at UT, and he received the Haslam Accomplished Alumni Award in 2017. He also holds a DBA in executive management from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University.

In addition to teaching accounting classes, Ford will work with the Neal Corporate Governance Center and with GEE on business development initiatives. Bruce Behn, associate dean for graduate and executive education at the college, says that Ford’s broad career background will be a real asset to the college.

“With his expertise in both the corporate and academic worlds, Ron’s unique skill set will be an invaluable benefit to GEE, the Department of Accounting and our business development initiatives,” Behn says.
