Haslam’s Online Graduate Business Programs Ranked in Top 20 by U.S. News

The Haslam College of Business placed No. 16 among U.S. public universities and No. 19 overall in the 2025 U.S. News Best Online Graduate Business Programs ranking.

The University of Tennessee, KnoxvilleHaslam College of Business placed No. 16 among U.S. public universities and No. 19 overall in the U.S. News Best Online Graduate Business Programs ranking released today. This ranking includes non-MBA master’s degrees such as the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management Online and the Master of Science in Business Cybersecurity Online.

Graduate Education That Meets Students’ Needs

According to Amy Cathey, distinguished lecturer, associate dean for Graduate and Executive Education, and interim vice provost and dean of UT’s graduate school, the ranking reflects Haslam’s dedication to meeting students’ educational needs and aspirations by offering degree programs through various venues and formats, leveraging the latest tools and technology.

“Our online programs deliver the same quality education that students expect from in-person programs,” Cathey said. “But the online offerings allow students to pursue Haslam graduate degrees from almost anywhere in the world. We offer a variety of graduate program formats — including residential, working professional, fully online and short courses — that make pursuing an MBA or other business degree possible for people from many different backgrounds and at many points in their careers.”

Pam Donovan, clinical associate professor of supply chain management and director of the college’s Master of Science in Supply Chain Management Online, said the ranking underscores the dedicated efforts of the program’s faculty and staff to deliver a pioneering curriculum that equips students with the most current and relevant industry training.

“Our teams are always working to offer a polished and cutting-edge virtual learning experience, ensuring students are undertaking a comprehensive educational program that provides training they can apply on the job as they earn their degrees,” Donovan said. “We appreciate that these efforts in the MS SCM Online program are being recognized by U.S. News.”

Methodology

Now in its 13th year, U.S. News online program rankings are based on as assessment of approximately 1,780 online degree programs. U.S. News ranked these programs using data from student engagement, peer assessments, faculty credentials and training, student excellence and services and technologies. Peer assessments were calculated from survey responses from deans of colleges of business nationwide.
