The Online BSBA at Haslam is built around a simple idea: that earning your degree should prepare you for the work that comes after it. From foundational business coursework to hands-on career development experiences, each piece of the curriculum is designed to help you grow as a professional and as a person. Whether you are returning to school after time in the workforce or starting your business education for the first time, these requirements give you the structure and support to move forward with confidence. Below are a few requirements to consider with the Online BSBA.
BUAD 300
Becoming Personally and Professionally Aware as a Leader
BUAD 300 is a career-focused course that strengthens students’ interviewing, problem-solving, negotiation, and professional communication skills. Students participate in mock interviews, applied problem-based learning, and collaborative teamwork.
This course is primarily asynchronous, however as part of the final project, student teams deliver a live virtual presentation to a client, simulating real-world business collaboration.
Students should expect to coordinate virtual meetings with teammates and participate in a scheduled live presentation. Presentation dates for each semester are released to current students ahead of course registration to support planning.

Online BSBA
Internship
All undergraduate management majors in the Haslam College of Business are required to complete an internship or equivalent experience to graduate. Internships are an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the business world, apply the knowledge learned in the classroom to real-world problems, and develop important professional skills. Students will have access to Haslam career coaches and other career resources to secure their internship.
The internship is a three-credit hour course that must be completed prior to graduation. Since the course is designed to get hands-on experience, it’s recommended the internship be completed once the student has started major coursework.
The internship requirement can be waived if students provide evidence of work experience aligning with the internship course outcomes. Admitted students can work with their academic advisor to determine if they can request an internship waiver. If a student is granted an internship waiver, all credit hour requirements for graduation must still be met.

Technology and Digital Readiness
As an online program student within the Haslam College of Business, students are expected to consistently engage with digital platforms and business technologies throughout their coursework.
Students entering this program should be comfortable navigating online learning systems, participating in virtual meetings, using collaborative tools, and communicating professionally in digital environments. Because technology plays a central role in modern business practice, students must also be willing to learn new platforms and adapt as technology evolves.
While advanced technical experience is not required, a proactive and independent approach to learning in online environments is essential for success.
Students are expected to have regular access to a reliable computer, high-speed internet, webcam, and microphone capable of supporting video conferencing and business software applications.
