The OACC partners with community partners, youth serving organizations, and campus partners to sponsor the Early College Awareness Program (ECAP). The program provides middle school students and their parents with information about college education via workshops and interactive exercises for students and a question-and-answer session for parents hosted by the Office of Access and Community Connections and Haslam College of Business academic departments.
The Office of Access and Community Connections partners with the Boys & Girls Club, Multicultural Student Life, and the UTK Office of Undergraduate Admissions to provide a college preparedness program for elementary and middle school students and their parents. The program’s purpose is to provide testimonials and informative sessions led by undergraduate business students who host workshops and discussions related to transitioning onto a college campus. Students and parents have an opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback from collegiate students regarding their experiences to aid in preparing future college students.
