The Collaborative Leadership Summit, sponsored by the Haslam College of Business and its Office of Access and Community Connections, is open to all members of the university community. This event provides opportunities for attendees to engage in meaningful conversations and learn how to define pathways toward collaborative leadership.

The Sophomore Mentoring Program provides second-year students with a guide or framework for helping them navigate their second year at the Haslam College of Business as they prepare for upper-level coursework and internships. Program participants are paired with a professional mentor to aid students in navigating academic and professional development objectives. We support the educational learning of our students through several core initiatives, including academic support, career mapping, and professional development opportunities.

The Takeoff Program is a year-long program in which first-year students receive targeted guidance as they transition into the university and Haslam College of Business. The program offers a focused cohort, peer mentors, and financial incentives for completing the program. Students are provided with an opportunity to participate in professional development workshops, seminars, and onsite visits to local companies. In addition, the program includes an emphasis on building business skills and entrepreneurship with a Business Pitch Competition in the spring semester.

The Haslam College of Business celebrates Veterans Day by supporting the activities planned by the University of Tennessee.

The annual Women in Business, Entrepreneurship and Leadership Summit presents Haslam administrators, faculty, staff, students and friends the opportunity to connect with and learn from accomplished female leaders who can help nurture and cultivate leadership skills.
Past speakers include Mintha Roach, former president and CEO of the Knoxville Utilities Board, and Meghann Erhart, vice president of supply chain strategy and strategic sales for Pilot/Flying J.
Speakers invited to the summit have made their voices heard across industries. They seek to provide Haslam students, faculty and staff with inspiration and to serve as role models.

The Community Advancement Program (CAP) is a selective program that provides students with the opportunity to hone in on their leadership and interpersonal skills while expanding their personal network and advancing initiatives in the Haslam College of Business.
CAP Advocates are responsible for representing the department at college fairs, school and corporate visits and community events as well as co-facilitate workshops and discussions around community in the workplace.
