Haslam College of Business - Professional Development Trips

The Office of Access and Community Connections (OACC) at the Haslam College of Business offers selected students’ opportunities to participate in professional development trips during the fall semester. These experiences connect classroom learning with real-world business practices, providing students with firsthand exposure to organizations, industry leaders, and potential career pathways.

Each fall semester, OACC coordinates Business Side of Sports: Professional Development Trips, taking selected students to cities across the country to explore the business operations, leadership, and career opportunities within the sports and entertainment industries. Through corporate site visits, behind-the-scenes tours, executive engagement, and alumni networking opportunities, students gain valuable industry insights while strengthening their professional skills and expanding their networks.

OACC also partners with corporate organizations to coordinate professional development experiences that introduce students to business industries, organizational cultures, and career possibilities. These opportunities encourage students to explore professional pathways beyond their academic majors, build meaningful relationships, and prepare for future career success.

Participation is competitive and requires students to submit an application and essay to the Office of Access and Community Connections. Transportation, lodging, and most meals are provided for participating students.
