KNOXVILLE—The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business recognized the accomplishments of two alumni and one corporation during its sixth annual Alumni Awards Gala on Nov. 14.
The college also honored alumnus James A. Haslam II, for whom the College of Business is named, and celebrated the culmination of its 100th anniversary. Earlier that day, a dedication was held to commemorate the naming of the former College of Business Administration.
About 450 alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the college attended the gala, which included a reception, silent auction, dinner and awards presentation. All expenses for the event were funded through private support.
Proceeds from the sponsorships and silent auction will benefit the College Fund, which allows college officials to allocate dollars toward areas of greatest need annually, including student and faculty support.
