Haslam offers nine majors with additional minors and concentrations, honors programs, world-renowned faculty, and an emphasis on applied learning and hands-on experience.

Each major combines two areas of interest in 27 hours of coursework. These interest areas break into categories based on the student’s preference:

Major Requirements

  • At least 75 percent of major and collateral / concentration coursework must be taken while residence at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
  • A minimum grade of C must be earned in every major, collateral and dual concentration courses.

International Business

An International Business (IB) major accompanies a second Haslam major and prepares students for international careers in various business fields. It equips students with functional skills that enhance their effectiveness as business professionals, incorporating advanced foreign language and a mandatory semester study abroad, developing students’ IB knowledge, intercultural fluencies, technical, functional and communication skills in both English and their chosen second language.
