International Business in the Netherlands
International Business in Portugal and the European Union
Marketing and International Business in Iceland

Details & Requirements
Haslam’s study abroad programs are taught in English and available to all majors and collaterals. Students can fulfill the Global Citizenship International Vol Core requirement. These programs also satisfy the study abroad requirement for international business concentrations/collaterals.
Each program has specific prerequisites students must complete or be actively completing upon application. Applications must be completed and submitted by the posted due date.
Application Process
Students complete the online application through the Programs Abroad Office, and rank their top programs in their application. Students who submit by the priority deadline will have their first choice of programs.
Students must confirm participation within five days from the date of receiving an acceptance email. Programs close when they are full, so students are advised to secure their space early.

Exchange Programs
Exchange programs are perfect for independent, forward-thinking and self-reliant students. These programs are fully immersive experiences; students study directly at a local university alongside local and international students.
Details & Requirements
Exchange program students pay UT tuition.
Many exchange and direct enroll programs are looking for students with competitive GPAs, usually a 3.0 or higher.
Students are encouraged to check the Transfer Credit Database for courses that have prior approval as transfer credit back to the university.
Application Process
First, students schedule an appointment with an IPSA advisor to explore their options and ensure curricular alignment. Then, students apply through the Programs Abroad Office. Once accepted by UT, students will then be required to complete the exchange partner’s application. Students considering exchange programs should begin this process at least six months before the semester they wish to study abroad.

Affiliate Programs
Affiliate study abroad programs are operated by a third-party provider in a variety of countries. Affiliate providers serve as liaisons between UT and the institution where students will take classes.
Details & Requirements
Many affiliate programs have a 2.5 GPA requirement. There are some highly selective and competitive programs that require a 3.0 or higher GPA. These programs are available all over the world and are great fits for students who are interested in meeting new people from across the globe, including local students!
Students are encouraged to check the Transfer Credit Database for courses that have prior approval as transfer credit back to the university.
Application Process
Students complete two applications for affiliate programs, one through the Programs Abroad Office and another directly with the affiliate. Semester programs require an appointment with an IPSA advisor and appointments are highly encouraged for all summer and winter programs as well.

Students are encouraged to check the Transfer Credit Database for courses that have prior approval as transfer credit back to the university.
Application Process
The application process for direct enroll programs will vary depending on the program. For some programs, the entire application will be through the Programs Abroad Office. For others, students will need to complete both the application on the VolsAbroad portal and directly through the institution’s website.

Academic Internships
Academic internships are affiliate provider programs that allow students to gain both practical work experience and earn UT credit. Students work with an affiliate provider to get matched with an internship. In addition to the internship, students complete an online professional development course that goes hand-in-hand with what they are learning.
Requirements
Many UT Academic Internship Programs are open to students with competitive GPAs, usually a 2.75 or higher.
Application Process
For academic internship programs, students apply directly to the application found on the Programs Abroad website. Students are required to submit a cover letter and a resume. Once accepted into the program, students work with an affiliate provider to be matched with their internship.
Internship Curriculum
Students who intern abroad have the potential of earning IB 492 credit, which can count towards an IB concentration or collateral. In order to earn three credit hours of IB 492, students must have between 150-299 contact hours at their internship and have at least 35 contact hours in a supporting professional development class. Students can also earn six credit hours of IB 492 if they are in their internship for more than 300 contact hours and have at least 70 contact hours in their supporting course.

Cultural Competency Series
IB 489 is a zero-credit course that fulfills the study abroad requirement for students with an IB collateral/concentration and is designed to prepare business students for their study abroad program, considering the business competencies that you’ll be adding to your skillset through this experience. All HCB students are required to maintain enrollment in IB 489 for their study abroad term.
On completion, you will earn Canvas badges and LinkedIn learning certificates to boost your marketability with future employers, demonstrating (and documenting) to them the investment you have made in increasing your international fluencies.
