Alexa Jarvis majored in accounting and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. She later received her master’s degree in accounting from the University of Florida as well, where she completed her focus in taxation. She is currently a licensed CPA in Tennessee.

Prior to academia, Jarvis worked in public accounting in both Georgia and Tennessee. While in public accounting, she served a mix of both smaller and larger clients, doing tax return preparation, tax planning, and transfer pricing documentation services. Jarvis later went on to work in industry finance, where she performed budgeting/forecasting analyses as well as other types of internal financial reporting.

Jarvis joined the Department of Accounting and Information Management in 2024, and she currently teaches Intro to Financial Accounting to undergraduate students.
