Timothy Munyon
Timothy P. Munyon is the Ergen Professor in Business and Janet and Jeff Davis Faculty Fellow at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business. He is also a co-founder and former managing partner at Red Castle Human Capital, a workforce analytics consultancy.
At UT, Munyon serves as co-director of the Consortium for Social Enterprise Effectiveness and is a core faculty member in several graduate programs. He teaches undergraduate and doctoral courses in organizational behavior and human resource management and has supported 21 doctoral dissertations as a committee member or chair. He was awarded the Bank of America Leadership Award in 2024, Commitment to Students award in 2024, Outstanding Professional MBA Faculty Award in 2023 and 2021, Outstanding Aerospace & Defense Faculty Award in 2018, “Outstanding HRM Faculty Award in 2016 and twice has been a finalist for competitive campus teaching awards.
Munyon’s research explores employee, entrepreneur and executive behavior. His research has appeared in outlets such as the Academy of Management Review, Family Business Review, Human Resource Management Review, the Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Personnel Psychology and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal. Munyon served as an associate editor of the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, and currently serves on the editorial boards of Human Resource Management Review, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Scientific Reports, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior and Personnel Psychology. He is a former editorial board member of Business Horizons, Group & Organization Management, the Journal of Leadership & Organizational Studies, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology and Production.
Finally, Munyon is active internationally, previously serving as a keynote speaker for the 2018 ENEGEP meeting (Brazil), 2019 Berkshire Hathaway HR Conference and serving as a visiting scholar at the University of Haifa (Israel). Before joining academia, Munyon worked in airport consulting and human resource management.
