OVERVIEW

At the Haslam College of Business, we are committed to challenging the status quo, expanding knowledge, driving meaningful change, and transforming the world. Through education, engagement, and advocacy, we seek to inspire our students, faculty, staff, and the broader business community.

The Connection and Engagement Council plays a pivotal role in advancing our college’s mission by fostering an environment of support and belonging. Through initiatives focused on academic support, recruitment and retention, educational programming, and professional development, we strive to create opportunities for all.

Recognizing that true progress is a collective effort, the Haslam College of Business encourages collaboration and engagement from all members of our community. Together, we can cultivate a culture where different perspectives are valued, and every individual can thrive.

Haslam College of Business Council

MISSION & GOALS

The Haslam College of Business Council is committed to fostering an environment where all individuals feel supported, valued, and empowered to contribute to the success of the college and the broader business community. Serving as a resource, advisor, and advocate, the council works to cultivate meaningful opportunities that enhance engagement, belonging, and community growth.

Goals & Objectives:

  • Promote education and awareness of practices that create a welcoming and supportive community across all levels of the college
  • Support initiatives that attract and retain talented faculty, staff, and students
  • Advise the dean and senior leadership on opportunities and challenges affecting the college community
  • Strengthen internal and external efforts to build and sustain an academic workplace culture of belonging
  • Serve as planning committee for an annual summit focused on leadership development and community building within the college and amongst campus partners
  • Review applications submitted for access to the Professional Development Fund for Staff within the Haslam College of Business
