Haslam Introduces New Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships

December 8, 2023

Aaron J. Snyder recently became the first executive director of strategic partnerships for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Haslam College of Business. In this role, Snyder will enhance Haslam’s ability to connect at high levels with select, leading firms and leverage advantageous employment and career opportunities for Haslam students and graduates. His activities will expand Haslam’s scope and increase its effectiveness in assisting students in their career advancement endeavors.

The college sought a seasoned former corporate executive capable of actively forging and nurturing corporate partnerships. Snyder (HCB, ’87) has more than 25 years of senior corporate experience with American Express, Experian, Blackhawk Network and other companies. He also has served as a Haslam Executive in Residence since 2011, allowing him to renew his familiarity with Haslam’s culture and develop a rapport with students. With deep executive expertise in strategic leadership, business alliances, negotiations and employee engagement and with business connections in multiple areas, Snyder is well-suited to maximize the reach and influence of Haslam’s strategic partnerships.

“It is our great fortune that Aaron Snyder agreed to serve as the college’s inaugural executive director for strategic partnerships,” said Stephen L. Mangum, dean of the college and Stokely Foundation Leadership Chair. “Snyder has already demonstrated that he is more than qualified for this role: Over the past decade, in his ‘spare time,’ he has proved extraordinarily successful working with individual Haslam students, providing them knowledge and skills they needed for specific career opportunities. His efforts facilitated outstanding job placements for them.”
