Haslam College of Business Gibbs H. Wetherall

Gibbs Wetherall is currently the Director of Corporate Development for Legacy South, a full-service real estate development, construction, and management company based in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role, Gibbs leads the firm’s M&A strategy and value creation initiatives. Prior to joining Legacy South, Gibbs spent five years working in investment banking for BTIG and Canaccord Genuity. He has additional financial services experience in commercial banking with Regions and securities operations with UBS. Gibbs earned a BSBA in Accounting and Finance, and lives in Nashville with his wife, Rachel, and two sons, McCoy (3) and Revere (1).

Why did you join HYAB?
“During my time as a student, I was unsure what career path I wanted to pursue. While I knew I sought a career in finance, I was unaware of all the various pathways and specialties within the industry. I had a lot to learn professionally. Once I began progressing down the roadmap I defined for myself post-grad, I felt compelled to reciprocate the generosity others had shown me along the way. I joined the HYAB because I wanted to give back to our University and the students that comprise it. I wanted to help students who might be unsure of their future career paths and offer what guidance I’m capable of to ensure they identify, pursue and achieve a rewarding career.”
