Haslam College of Business - Jake Livesay

Biography

Jake Livesay is a lecturer in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business. His career began at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he worked in accelerator-based nuclear physics and nuclear nonproliferation. An interest in commercializing intellectual property developed by his project team led him into entrepreneurship, culminating in the founding of IB3 Global Solutions, a nuclear security firm based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where he served as CTO for more than a decade. 

Following the successful exit of his company, Livesay joined Haslam as a full-time faculty member after several semesters as an adjunct instructor. He also serves as a startup coach with the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, where he mentors founders and supports new venture development.
