Victor Ranft teaches courses in Consumer Behavior and Business Ethics. Dr. Ranft is the advisor to two student chapters on campus, the American Marketing Association Student Chapter and the NASBA Center for the Public Trust Student Chapter. Prior to coming to the University of Tennessee, Dr. Ranft was on the Marketing faculty at Florida State University where he taught Consumer Behavior and Marketing Research. Before joining the faculty at FSU he was the Director of Graduate Programs. Dr. Ranft was as a clinical psychologist for many years, who also served as Director of Training and Clinical Director. He was on the Psychiatry Department clinical faculty at the Medical College of Virginia and Counseling Psychology adjunct faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University and West Virginia University. Prior to his academic life, Dr. Ranft was a Research Specialist for the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, and owned two companies (Mountain Adventures – a wilderness guide operation in Beech Mountain, NC and Ranft Database Systems – a national database design company).
