Suzan Puhl Murphy joined the Department of Finance faculty at the University of Tennessee in 1996. She teaches Financial Management (Finance 301) and Financial Statement Analysis (Finance 402). She also teaches in the MBA and Professional MBA programs, and serves as the Assistant to the Department Head.
Mrs. Murphy is the faculty advisor for the Financial Management Association (FMA) which meets monthly to hear from business professionals. The FMA also goes on two annual trips to New York and to Omaha, Nebraska to meet with famed investor, Warren Buffett.
Mrs. Murphy's professional experience includes teaching business and mathematics and working as a Certified Management Consultant with two international public accounting firms. She holds the MBA degree from Loyola University and the BS degree from the University of New Mexico. In addition, she has completed graduate work in mathematics at the University of Tennessee. She is a member of Financial Executives International, and is working on the Certified Management Accountant designation.
