Haslam Professor First Recipient of Healthcare Supply Chain Performance Award

August 28, 2020

Randy V. Bradley, professor of information systems and supply chain management in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Dean S. Ammer Award for Healthcare Supply Chain Performance Excellence. The award is presented by Bellwether League Inc., which was founded in 2007 specifically to honor individuals who make notable contributions to healthcare supply chain leadership.

In a press release announcing Bradley’s selection, Bellwether wrote: “Bradley’s thought leadership reinforces the need to advance supply chain digitalization – not simply for transactional purposes, but also for foundational development and progress towards healthcare transformation. His insights, international keynote addresses and industry engagements illustrate his reach across multiple ages, experience levels and countries.”

Bradley will be recognized on Bellwether’s website, in press releases and in the league’s publication, Leaders & Luminaries. He also will be honored at the virtual 13th Annual Bellwether Induction Event later this year and at the league’s live 2021 event in Rosemont, Ill.

"This award is particularly special since it comes from healthcare executives, leaders and industry professionals who serve on the Bellwether League’s board of directors," Bradley said. "The recognition is a testament to my department's trust in me to continue efforts to advance and improve healthcare supply chains globally."

Chad Autry, head of UT’s supply chain management department, said Bradley's Ammer Award underscores a trend. "More and more, our faculty are being noticed as scholars and thought leaders who greatly influence both supply chain management theory and practice,” Autry said. “Randy is yet another of our colleagues who never ceases to amaze me."

Dean S. Ammer, for whom the award is named, was the first inductee into Bellwether League’s Hall of Fame for Healthcare Supply Chain Leadership.
