The University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Haslam College of Business placed No. 14 among U.S. public universities and No. 18 overall in the U.S. News Best Online Graduate Business Programs ranking released today. Among student veterans, Haslam ranked No. 6 in U.S. public schools and No. 7 overall. The ranking includes data from Haslam’s Master of Science in Supply Chain Management Online (MS SCM).
Graduate Education Designed To Meet Students’ Needs
Amy Cathey, distinguished lecturer and Haslam’s associate dean for Graduate and Executive Education, says the college’s performance in the ranking highlights a commitment to providing degree opportunities to students with different educational needs through a range of venues and formats, using the most current tools and techniques.
“In addition to the MS SCM online, Haslam offers an online MBA program and a fully online MS in Business Cybersecurity,” Cathey said. “We offer a variety of graduate program formats — including residential, working professional, fully online and short courses — that allow students from diverse backgrounds and work situations to enhance the value they bring to their organizations, regardless of geographic location or work schedule.”
Pam Donovan, clinical associate professor of supply chain management and director of Haslam’s MS SCM Online program, called the program’s rank a testament to faculty and staff’s diligent efforts in designing a discipline-leading curriculum that provides students with the most current and relevant education in the industry.
“Our teams work tirelessly to deliver a seamless and innovative online learning experience, offering materials and training that exceed student expectations — training that they also can apply immediately on the job while still earning their degrees,” Donovan said. “We are proud that these efforts in the MS SCM Online program are receiving national recognition.”
The online program rankings were based on surveys sent to 222 U.S colleges and universities. U.S. News assessed the schools in the ranking based on multiple objective factors including student engagement, faculty credentials and services and technologies. The veteran category includes only schools that finished in the top half of the best online program rankings, which are certified for the G.I. bill and the Yellow Ribbon Program and that met a threshold of student veterans enrolled in the program.
